This position is located in the Training Corps (NROTC) Unit at the University of Washington. As an Administrative Assistant (Office Automation), you will be providing administrative services in areas of support that include preparing classified and unclassified documents; time and attendance; maintenance of records and files; supplies, travel, and personnel services; coordinating meetings; and creating data reports.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

You must be a US Citizen.

Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance.

Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.

Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

You must obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Must be a qualified typist.

DUTIES:
  • Maintaining the calendar and meeting engagements of supervisor and/or office staff
  • Using office automation to manage and prepare documents, records, and/or reports
  • Creating graphics, calendars, statistics, tables and/or reports using office automation software
  • Performing final review and/or editing of correspondence to ensure proper format, grammar, punctuation and spelling are used
  • Assisting students and staff during check in and check out while serving as the command liaison
  • Preparing standard Navy officer fitness reports (FITREP) and enlisted evaluations
  • Preparing and reviewing travel orders using the Defense Travel System (DTS)
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing a variety of administrative and clerical support services; preparing correspondence (such as travel orders) and/or reports; communicating both orally and in writing; greeting visitors to the office; answering phone calls; filing documents; and setting up meetings and/or appointments OR successful completion of four years of education above the high school level OR a combination of post high school education and specialized experience that equates to one year of experience.

REQUIREMENTS:
Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

A security clearance is a requirement of this position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal. If you possess a security clearance, please indicate the level and termination date in your resume.

Work requires operating a government vehicle to drop off and pick up mail and documents. Selectee must obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license. Failure to obtain and maintain a driver's license may result in loss of consideration for this position.
