The Code Compliance Department Administration is seeking to hire a qualified individual for the position of Administrative Assistant.S
Ability to perform specific departmental functions that apply to assigned area of responsibility including:
Provide confidential and complex administrative support to the executive team
Assist in the development and maintenance of departmental policies and standard operative procedures
Assist in the processing of public information requests
Assist in the collection of data related to special projects and assignments
Provide staff support including payroll and other personnel transactions as assigned
Provide staff support for the purchasing process
The successful candidate must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; ability to identify and respond to issues, concerns and needs; and ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions. The successful candidate will also be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment; be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and administrative skills, provide outstanding customer service orientation and a strong focus on results.
Skills / Requirements
The following education and/or experience are the minimum standards which provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field is required.
High School Diploma or GED AND four (4) years of increasingly responsible administrative/clerical experience in an office environment required.
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint computer and typing skills (40+ wpm) required. Extensive and increasingly public contact work experience is required. Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures related to Purchasing including requisition and purchase of materials and supplies, maintaining inventory, preparing bids information, and/or coordinating with staff. Previous experience with MARS/BUYSPEED is strongly preferred. Preference will be given to applicants who have the ability to read and understand time and attendance procedures and apply policies/procedures. Previous experience with PeopleSoft is strongly preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid class C drivers license and an acceptable driving record is required.
MISC. REQUIREMENTS: City of Fort Worth policy on acceptable driving record required.

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting for prolonged periods of time, manual dexterity required.
