The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the principal office assistant performing various personnel, administrative, and computer support duties in support of the organization. Manages Squadron personnel performance report and awards processes.
Input data pertaining to awards, decorations, and military performance reports.
Establishes, updates, and maintains offices records of various types.
Uses a variety of automated systems (e.g., records management, electronic forms, electronic publications library, time and attendance, etc) and non-automated systems to perform various clerical duties.
Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, materials, publications, regulations, and directives.
Screens telephone calls, visitors, incoming mail and electronic messages to identify what needs to be brought to the attention of the supervisor, referred to appropriate staff, rerouted to other organizations/offices, or handled personally.
Maintains commanders calendar, and schedules and coordinates meetings and conferences. Oversee commanders
programs, i.e. functions as urinalysis monitor for military and civilian personnel.
Assist with accountability of hardware items.
Maintains records for the temporary and/or permanent transfer of hardware.
Completes the appropriate worksheets and reports.

(TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions:
Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-05 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral.
The purpose of TIG restrictions is to prevent excessively rapid promotions in competitive service GS positions and to protect competitive principles.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of military personnel database systems, updating military records, and also format content, and uses of military personnel reports, awards and decorations.
Knowledge of extensive body of rules, procedures, or operations applied to secretarial and clerical assignments to perform the procedural and administrative work of the office, such as preparing and editing documents, maintaining files/records, making and preparing travel arrangements, locating, assembling and composing information for various reports, inquiries, and non-technical correspondence.
Ability to prepare and review routine correspondence, to screen telephone calls and visitors, to maintain supervisors calendar, to schedule meetings and conferences.
Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports.
Skill in typing; a qualified typist is require.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employee may be required to travel away from the normal duty station utilizing military or civilian aircraft.
Incumbent must be able to acquire and retain a Secret security clearance.
