Provide assistance to the Adult Education Child Care Specialist for all aspects of the child care programming.
Description of Essential Functions:
Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the assigned room. 2. Conferring with parents about program changes, explaining group participation and progress of children enrolled in specific group. 3. Planning and exploring teacher-made materials and activities to promote creative learning and child development. 4. Suggesting and completing inventory of items, materials, equipment and supplies to be ordered. 5. Attending necessary meetings and workshops as required. 6. Carry out routine duties such as serving snack and lunch, furniture moving, sanitizing equipment, doing errands, etc. when not assigned to a group of children. 7. Other duties as assigned.
Specific Functional Job Requirements
Education: High School diploma/GED required. Minimum of an Associate Degree in child care, early childhood education development or education preferred
Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with work experience in the field.
Knowledge: The rules and regulations of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and the Illinois Department of Public Health
Skills: Computer Internet and Microsoft Office Skills
Personal: As required by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services
Machines & Equipment Used: : Calculator, personal computer, copier, fax machine.
