Back of the House AM Breakfast Cook Job

Full and part time early morning shifts available. Seasonal positions with potential for year round placement.

Job Summary:

Position is responsible for preparing restaurant outlet breakfast menu and special items to order to include, but not limited to; eggs any style, pancakes, french toast, omelets, oatmeal and more! Position also requires ability to work in the dining room at a breakfast action station preparing fresh omelets and waffles. Requires reading tickets, ensuring all items are prepared and presented to specifications, communicating with other cooks, prepping product as needed, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation.

Skills/ Requirements:

Effectively operates their cook’s breakfast station

Prepares the complete line of breakfast menu items, specials and ensures pars are ready for service

Pulls all food needed for daily production from walk-in box and utilizes all leftovers as per SOP and with direction from the lead cook, records stock use as per procedures

Assists with banquet food production needs as needed and directed

Maintains good housekeeping and safe temperatures in the entire workstation, kitchen, walk-in freezers, walk-in boxes and all reach-in refrigerators

Ensures all food is properly identified, covered, dated & stored

Maintains food quality and service in accordance with standardized company recipes and procedures

Promotes and maintains effective communication between service staff and other kitchen staff

Reports all needed maintenance and safety observations

Practices the "clean as you go" philosophy on the line

Checks with the supervisor prior to departure

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work early mornings and be on time for start of shift

Manual dexterity in hands required to use kitchen utensils

Ability to work on one’s feet for long lengths of time

Ability to grasp, lift & carry food products or equipment weighing up to 35 lbs

Must possess good working knowledge of cooking tools, utensils, sanitation procedures, and commercial kitchen equipment

Ability to perform duties in confined spaces under warm temperatures

Must possess reading and basic math skills to follow recipes

Converse comfortably with guests at action station preparing omelets and waffles

Education/Experience:

A passion for preparing and sharing great food

High school diploma or equivalent required

Restaurant breakfast cooking experience required

Career tech or college level culinary education candidates preferred

Reference and background checks required

Non-smoking candidates preferred
