Plan, direct, manage and oversee the activities and operations of the Albuquerque Police Department's media services including video production and the maintenance of the department's internal television system. Coordinate assigned activities with other department divisions, and provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the entire department.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in mass communications, journalism, marketing or related field, plus four (4) years of television or radio broadcasting or related experience to include two (2) years of direct supervisory experience in a management or administrative capacity. Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.

Operations, services and activities of a comprehensive municipal media resources program

Technical procedures and methods involved in television broadcast production and multi-media presentations

Video, audio, and multi-media equipment

Marketing and communications strategies and principles

Principles and practices of program development and administration

Principles and practices of municipal budget preparation and administration

Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation

Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations

Research, analyze and recommend acquisition of video, audio, and multi-media equipment

Strategize and create marketing and promotions plans and campaigns

Plan, organize, direct and coordinate the work of lower level staff Select, supervise, train and evaluate staff

Delegate authority and responsibility

Analyze and assess programs, policies and operational needs and make appropriate adjustments

Identify and respond to sensitive community and organizational issues, concerns and needs

Develop and administer division goals, objectives and procedures

Prepare clear and concise administrative and financial reports

Prepare and administer large and complex budgets

Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals

Research, analyze and evaluate new service delivery methods and techniques

Interpret and apply Federal, State and local policies, laws and regulations

Communicate clearly and concisely

Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
