The primary purpose of this position is

t

o serve as a senior professional architect in support of design duties pertaining to facilities engineering management at a major or complex military installation. Employee serves as a technical consultant on design aspects concerning real property facilities and utilities.

·

Performs as a professional architect in planning and designing substantial new construction, renovation, and improvement projects on real property facilities.

Develops plans, and designs specifications for various types of facility projects.

·

Serves as a consulting architect on all design aspects of assigned projects.

Provides professional consultations on a broad range of difficult architectural issues and problems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-11) or equivalent.

Specialized experience must include using knowledge and abilities applicable to a wide range of architectural duties; broad understanding of state and local jurisdictions over the use of land and natural resources, construction of facilities and utilities; knowledge of installation/command mission and organization; ability to plan/monitor large scale architectural projects to ensure compliance with applicable objectives; ability to apply standard practices or related engineering disciplines as they relate to programming/base development.

Federal Time-In-Grade (TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions:

Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-11 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral.
