Specialized clerical work in general office duties in the maintaining and preserving of documents in the Clerk's office.

Essential Job Functions:

Essential functions are fundamental job duties. They do not include marginal tasks which are also performed but are incidental to the primary functions. The incumbent will perform the duties listed below;

Assist in the opening and closing of the office;

Collects and receipts funds received in the department;

Balances cash drawer against daily receipts;
Assist the public in person, by telephone, email, fax and postal mail;

Participates in the management of the records by sorting, filing, organizing and relocating;

Respond to requests from the public, Court Divisions, attorneys or other agencies;

Perform office clerical work;

Required to follow Public Records statutes when completing a Public Records request;

Required to operate office equipment and locate documents using proper media format;

Retrieves documents f or copying, scanning and prepare documents for imaging and scanning;

Learning records management techniques to control and manage records;
Performs related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS: Manual dexterity, good vision, hearing and speaking in order to communicate with public . Must be able to physically lift up to 20 pounds and climb a ladder.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Office and some driving.

KNOWLEDGE OF: Laws and regulations regarding the storage and maintaining of public records; make decisions in accordance with laws and policy and apply them to work problems; establish and maintain effective working relationship with officials, public, attorneys, title companies and fellow workers; follow oral and written instructions.

SKILLS: Operate computer; copying machine; and related office equipment

Minimum Qualifications:

To be considered for this position you MUST submit documentation (ie diplomas or transcripts reflecting graduation) of the education requirements listed below. Failure to do so will result in your application being rejected.

Graduation from high school or GED. One year of clerical experience in general office work, archival capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Type 30 cwpm.

LICENSE: Applicant must have a valid Driver's License at the date of hire and maintain said license while employed in this position.
