This position works closely with Water and Wastewater crews to assist in supervising, planning and coordinating the various field construction, maintenance, repair or water distribution and/or wastewater collection activities within the assigned field operations division; to conduct the more complex and technical activities and duties of the assigned field operation; to provide highly responsible and complex staff assistance to assigned supervisory staff.
Skills / Requirements
The following education and or experience or its equivalent is the minimum standard which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position:
Possession of a High School Diploma or GED supplemented by specialized training in water distribution systems, valve and fire hydrant maintenance, wastewater collection system operations, repair or related activities PLUS three (3) years of responsible experience in field construction, maintenance, repair, water distribution or wastewater collection operational activities related to assigned department or division and one (1) year supervisory experience required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Extensive telephone and customer contact required. Overtime, holiday and working after scheduled shift may be required.
Possession of a valid Class C Drivers License and an acceptable driving record required.
Class C Water required at time of hire and the ability to obtain a Class I or II Wastewater Collection within 1 year of employment. Class C Water Distribution and Class II Wastewater Collection (dual certification) will be required within 3 years of appointment.
MISC. REQUIREMENTS: City of Fort Worth policy on acceptable driving record required.
