Stetson University seeks a broadly prepared and experienced educational leader for a full-time, tenure track appointment as an assistant or associate professor. We seek a dynamic teacher/scholar with a proven track record of innovative leadership in K-12 education with a focus on curriculum and instruction and special emphasis on at-risk and poverty populations. He or she must be able to teach core courses in both our undergraduate and graduate programs while participating energetically in the rapidly changing fields of teacher and educational leader preparation. We especially seek a faculty colleague who can deepen our programs signature emphasis on preparing teachers in the critical dimensions of class, gender, and culture in 21st-century K-12 education and who is expert at integrating technology into teaching. He or she must also be able to draw on the strengths of the Universitys academic program in the liberal arts and sciences, business, law, and counseling.


The preferred candidate will have 1) an earned doctoral degree from an accredited university in education with a focus on curriculum and instruction, education of diverse populations, education of at-risk youth, urban education, or a closely related field, and 2) proficiency in teaching with technology.


The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate level courses in curriculum and instruction and related areas according to expertise; supervise internships and practicums; advise students; assist with state and NCATE certification requirements; develop and maintain a focused scholarly research agenda; and take an active role in partnerships with school systems.
