Position Objective:
Broward College invites applicants for a full-time tenure track appointment for the Bachelors of Applied Science in Information Technology program in the Department of Engineering and Computer Science on the North campus. Candidates should be passionate educators who can facilitate the needs of diverse 21st century learners. Candidate is expected to be keeping abreast of new advances in the field, and helping to develop new courses and/or curricula to address those advances. This position will teach courses in the Bachelors of Applied Science in Information Technology program along with courses at the Associate's level in Computer Science. BAS I.T. courses are hybrid 55% face-to-face and 45% online. Associate's level courses are taught in both traditional face-to-face as well as fully-online. This position is a yearly two semester (163 day) contract.

Minimum Education:
Master's Degree required in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or Software Engineering. Doctorate Degree preferred.

Minimum Experience/Training:
General qualifications include demonstrated technical and leadership experience, professional and technical writing skills. The successful candidate must be willing to participate in the College's professional development activities to become qualified to teach blended and fully online courses. Annual (Fall & Spring semesters) course load of 30 credits, plus office hours, will include three or more, evening/weekend classes each term. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain active professional development activities and service to the Department and College. Teaching experience in a college or post- secondary institution is preferred. Committee work may be needed. Some schedules may require evening and/or weekend hrs.

The successful candidate must have a high level of computer literacy and a commitment to teaching at a college.
