ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, MUSICAL THEATRE
Western Kentucky University Department of Theatre and Dance seeks applications for a new tenure-track position, Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre, starting August 2013. A relevant terminal degree as well as professional experience in musical theatre is required. We are a vibrant, growing undergraduate department offering BA’s in Dance and Theatre and a BFA in Performing Arts with concentrations in Music Theatre, Acting/Directing, and Theatre Design and Technology. The successful candidate will be able to teach and accompany private voice for music theatre and have a broad knowledge of musical theatre styles and repertoire, while also supporting our musical theatre program through some selection of the following skills: music direction, musical theatre dance styles, choreography, piano accompaniment, sight reading, audition prep, acting, and/or directing. There is also an expectation of scholarly and/or creative work, committee service, advising, and other administrative responsibilities.
