s Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences invites applications for a tenure-eligible, full time Assistant Professor position beginning August 16, 2013. Primary responsibility is the day-to-day operation, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of the clinical education component of a well-established CAATE accredited, undergraduate Athletic Training Education Program. Other responsibilities include teaching, academic advising, student clinical supervision, and other related tasks assigned by the Program Director and Department Chair. Specific teaching responsibilities will be comprised of athletic training coursework.

Position/Job Qualifications
Earned Doctorate preferred ( ABD considered) in related field and current BOC status as a certified athletic trainer, a minimum of 3 years of professional clinical practice, evidence of college level teaching, and scholarly activity are required. At least three (3) years experience in teaching, supervision, and clinical instruction within a CAATE accredited program is strongly recommended. Having expertise and/or experience in one or more of the following; therapeutic interventions (modalities and pharmacology), evidence based medicine, and general medicine will be considered a plus.

Department description
The Department of Exercise and Sports Sciences at Ithaca College (http://departments.ithaca.edu/ess/) consists of 18 full time faculty and is housed in the Center for Health Sciences with state of the art facilities including a wellness clinic and 7,000 sq. ft. of lab space for teaching and research in motor control, exercise physiology, biomechanics, anatomy & physiology, and athletic training. Undergraduate degrees are offered in athletic training, clinical exercise science, and exercise science with a total enrollment of 230 undergraduate students. Anticipated completion of a new athletic training facility in 2014 will provide enhanced clinical education opportunities for our students enrolled in the Athletic Training Education Program. A Master of Science in Exercise and Sports Sciences is also offered with an emphasis in sport psychology, exercise science, or human performance.
