Global Procurement is a corporate strategic sourcing group that serves BMS's global business units by identifying and executing sourcing strategies to meet their needs. Beginning with concise specifications and well planned negotiations, Procurement strives to maximize contract value while maintaining strict quality standards. Procurement continuously works with strategic suppliers to develop and capture additional value within the supply chain through productivity initiatives and supplier collaboration.
Responsible for supporting value creation and delivery, end-to-end across the value chain, while engaging as a strategic business partner. Manage procurement activities, with the goal of driving substantial value realization efforts in all forms – revenue generation, cost reductions and productivity improvements. Work closely with key stakeholders in business units and corporate functions to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans. Deliver total cost of ownership (TCO) value realization for all designated spend categories, drive innovation in the supply chain, lead and/or support major strategic programs including end-2-end process and leading insource/outsource recommendations. As process leader responsible for category management, strategic sourcing and supplier management effectiveness on a particular bundle of categories, this role has the following specific responsibilities: guide strategy development for major categories, participate in the development of annual strategic category management plans, ensure clear alignment with business unit objectives. Oversee the development and execution of category strategies through the category management and strategic sourcing process and drive innovation into these processes. Lead and/or support major strategic programs within a multi-year plan including end-2-end process, make/buy analysis and recommendations within a large group of spend categories and/or within a major business area. Oversee the supplier selection and negotiation process for key sourcing projects. Establish and maintain contractual and business relationships with key suppliers. In addition, the Associate Director, Strategic Procurement will be active in the effort to achieve small and disadvantaged business sourcing objectives. Bachelor's degree required with MBA preferred. Successful 5-7 year track record in a procurement organization or R&D or Commercial or Operations or Consulting function. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects, people and resources in a global business environment. Strategic ability to develop high impact sourcing strategies. Exhibits thought leadership, insource/outsource analysis and understanding of key value drivers. Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Management, Compliance Management processes. Strong analytical skills. Able to define and understand the most critical issues. Strong negotiating skills. Ability to develop actionable recommendations and implementation plans. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Strong management skills, with emphasis on people development. World class procurement competency development skills and supplier relationship skills. Outstanding cross-functional leadership skills; viewed as credible by business unit/functional leaders. Willingness to “constructively dissent” and challenge colleagues thinking on key Procurement issues. Able to get buy-in and commitment from both internal and external stakeholders.
