Prevailance has an opening for a Technical Writer in Virginia Beach, VA supporting Antiterrorism Force Protection (ATFP) task orders to US Fleet Forces Command. Key responsibilities of the Technical Writer will include; develop, review, and assist in the development of training documents, doctrine and final task order deliverables. Responsible for obtaining data from review of doctrine, TTP, policies, surveys and reports. Prepare written text and coordinating the layout and organization of materials. Support working group planning and execution as required.
Candidate must be able to demonstrate technical writing experience, proficiency and knowledge of ATFP policies, guidelines and training. . Candidate will provide support in the preparation of working group drafts, note taking, adjudication matrices, brief preparations, and draft development. Provide documentation support services and contribute to the knowledge and understanding of proofreading including grammar and spelling.
Able to work independently in the preparation and finalization of all required deliverables.
Incumbent will attend and participate in task order meetings, ATFP Team Meetings and work groups as required to develop and improve processes.
Minimum of Associate's Degree in a related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
1 to 3 years of experience preparing analytical documentation for US Navy. Knowledge of the principles and practices involved in research and writing. Substitute experience is the appropriate CG or DOD "A" or "C" technical school.
Be prepared to provide examples of writing and recent references.
Expert with Microsoft Products; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Demonstrated ability to understand and clearly write for Navy ATFP documentation. Support working group planning and execution as required.
