Applications are currently being accepted to establish a POOL of Casual Workers for special events in Athletics. Applications for these temporary, hourly, on-call positions will be accepted on a continuing basis through 4/30/13.
ATHLETICS FACILITIES AND EVENTS ASSISTANT
CASUAL WORKER, #120046
Salary Range: $8.00 - $110.00/Hourly. (Position budgeted at $10.00 -$15.00/hourly, depending on experience).
Work Schedule: Various hours. Hours to be arranged; non-exempt classification. Must be available for weekdays, weekends and evenings.
Essential Job Functions: Under the supervision of the Facilities and Events Manager, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring the comfort and safety of athletic events participants and spectators and assisting in other athletic game day operations as assigned. Duties include but are not limited to: setting up and taking down tables, chairs, and other event apparatus; monitoring event entrance and exit points; may serve as the event publics address announcer, statistician, ball retriever or scoreboard operator; and performing other related event staff duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience: High School graduate or GED. Incumbent must be able to work efficiently, effectively and agreeably under pressure; work independently and well with others; and demonstrate ability and/or interest in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment.
Desired Qualifications: Willingness and ability to be courteous and maintain a neat appearance as a representative of the University.
