Plans, directs, coordinates, implements and evaluates alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention and education programs for Old Dominion University students. Develops goals, objectives and evaluations of programs. Supervises a graduate assistant.
Demonstrated ability and comprehensive knowledge to develop, plan and implement health education and wellness programs to include alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention and education related programming. Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work with a multi-disciplinary staff. Considerable knowledge of wellness education (i.e., stress management, sexually transmitted disease, nutrition, smoking cessation) as related to alcohol, tobacco and other drug education.
Certified Health Education Specialist. Experience as a Health Educator in a University Setting. Master's Degree in Health Education, Health Sciences or Related Field. Substance Abuse Prevention credentialing or training.
This is a full-time 12 month position. Evening/weekend work is required.
