Wetpaint is looking for a smart, innovative, strategic thinker to help drive our social distribution strategy. As a manager within the Audience Development team, this role will primarily focus on managing the rollout of our proprietary technology across key partner brands but will also help drive a larger and more engaged audience within Wetpaint’s branded social media channels (primarily Facebook and Twitter today). The position will be that of coach and player – you will help design Wetpaint’s strategic approach to social media for partners; manage and grow (both in ability and in size) the existing team to deliver results; and direct parts of our social experimentation system, occasionally rolling‐up your sleeves to operate specific channels.

Innovation is a critical pillar of our success and, as such, will be an important part of this role driving experimentation across Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest and whatever other ideas you have. Get ready to dig into the world of social media!

  • Contribute to strategies for fan acquisition, social distribution and new channel exploration
  • Execute specific elements of Wetpaint’s overall social strategy (e.g. manage fan pages, Twitter handles, etc.)
Require Skills and Experience 1-3 years of strategy, business analysis or marketing experience with demonstrable history of managing small teams is *required*. Other critical skill areas:

  • Team leader – be prepared to guide the team’s areas of focus to hit results and be able to discuss career paths too
  • Results-oriented – we live and breathe results and love to look for areas where we can do even better
  • Collaborative spirit – pitching in, helping out and investing in others is part of our culture
  • Clear communicator – we try to tell it like it is, and you should too
  • Build from scratch – being able to think through the details while also seeing the big picture and making important decisions will be paramount for this role
  • Creative thinker – the answers are rarely written anywhere, and we’re not happy to just take what others think is the right path anyway
