Provide on-site academic advising to severely injured veterans and their family members at the Wounded Warrior Battalion West Camp Pendleton. Conduct and document intake interviews. Direct veterans to government agencies and not-for-profit organizations for benefits and resources. Assist veterans and their family members in navigating the traditional, distance learning, and vocational admissions processes and appropriate financial aid processes. Collaborate with internal and external staff to develop individualized educational pathway plans. Assist veterans and their family members with the college application process and financial aid applications. Encourage, inform, and advise service members and their families on the use, application, and interpretation of the GUIDE and ACE credit recommendations. Responsible for continual professional development, keeping up to date with changing information, and cultivation of professional contacts. Refer service members to learning resources and programs designed to prepare returning or first-time students.

Bachelor's degree in a related field
The equivalent of three years progressively responsible experience in academic advising and/or work with veterans
Master's degree in a related field
Knowledge of diverse educational options/opportunities available to prospective students
A strong commitment to serving severely injured veterans and their families
