The Center for Advising and Student Achievement at the University of Indianapolis is accepting applications for two Academic Advisors. These are full-time exempt staff positions.
The Academic Advisors primarily serves undergraduate students by discussing degree selection and developing academic plans for success. Advisors learn and maintain competent knowledge of all areas of University curricula, specific degree and program requirements, complete advising processes using INB /web-based Banner, and collaborate with administrative offices, campus committees, and faculty.
Academic Advisors serve within a team and report to the director of the Center for Advising and Student Achievement. Other duties may be assigned. The Academic Advisors must be committed to being accessible to students.

Required Education/Experience/Skills (Minimum Qualifications)
The successful candidate is required to have a bachelor’s degree; a minimum of one year of direct experience mentoring or advising secondary or post-secondary students or related work experience; technical aptitude; proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; and experience with a student management database. A graduate degree in higher education or a related field and experience with Ellucian Banner are preferred. Academic Advisors will work in a team structure and must be able to plan and prioritize work, effectively communicate, establish interpersonal relationships, and use data to inform decision-making and present a professional image. The successful candidate will communicate technical knowledge and competency.
Desired Education/Experience/Skills (Additional Qualifications)
During high-traffic times, advisors may be required to work a late-day shift.
