The Academic Dean is responsible for consulting and providing training for staff in culturally responsive programming addressing issues of pedagogy and curriculum focusing on program design and delivery of student supports both academic and social/behavioral with the end goal of reducing the achievement gap.
The Academic Dean creates conditions for equity and excellence and eliminates the gap between the district's mission of high levels of achievement for all learners and the policies, practices and structures in the school system that may perpetuate inequities.
The Academic Dean implements, supervises, and assists with the evaluation of programs to provide high expectations and positive support for total student achievement, discipline, and attendance, and also helps to coordinate efforts to develop and maintain effective communications between home and school.
Demonstrated effectiveness in working with students and families from diverse racial, cultural, economic, and linguistic backgrounds.
Excellent human relations skills and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with students, families, and staff.
Minnesota Administrative certification or enrollment in an administrative licensure program.
Teaching or administrative experience.
