Nature of Work: The Center for Global Health invites applications for the position of Academic Professional Associate (non-tenure track faculty status) beginning July 1, 2013.

Essential Duties : A successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for program administration and teaching excellence. The candidate will be required to manage and teach in the expanding global programs that are “soft money”- funded through study abroad programs (including study abroad internships), workshops and other non-credit-based educational programs, and grant funding.

Minimum Qualifications and Training : An earned terminal degree in public health or related field from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications : MPH; experience with graduate-level educational program administration; teaching experience in global health; study abroad and international internship program development; budget development and financial coordination; and organizing conferences.

Responsibilities : The Academic Professional Associate will organize and manage study abroad programs and global health internships. He/she will also work with UGA faculty and staff to expand scholarly undergraduate and graduate programs in global health, including the minor and certificates. The applicant will teach undergraduate courses in the Center for Global Health and advise both undergraduate and graduate students on their programs of study.

Salary : $48,000

The Center for Global Health : In 2009, nearly four years ago, in response to this growing health care crisis and the state’s need to replenish the public health workforce, the UGA’s College of Public Health created the Center of Global Health (CGH). The goals of the Center include:

To lead efforts in global health throughout the University; serve students by creating programs, courses, internships, and a culture recognizing the globalized character of health care and public health; promote and conduct research in global health; and provide service to the People of the State of Georgia, to the United States, and to other nations to improve health care for all.
