The DEPARTMENT OF CLASSICS at the UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA is seeking to appoint a permanent Academic Professional in Classics, with expertise in online education.
We seek a broadly-trained classicist with a Ph.D. in Classics or a related field at the time of appointment (1 August 2014). The successful applicant will have a record that shows experience with and expertise in online instruction and a strong interest in the teaching of classical languages. This is a non-tenure-track position at the level of Academic Professional (AP). Academic Professional is a non-tenure track faculty rank at the University of Georgia. The AP in Classics will handle all undergraduate advising in the Department, will assist the Graduate Coordinator, will direct our newly established online Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Classical Languages, will teach three of the courses within that program, and may have an opportunity, if desired, to be involved with our very successful Study Abroad program in Rome. Duties will be roughly 49% instruction, 35% advising and student services, and 16% administrative coordination of our online program.
