Academic Records Specialist

The Academic Records Specialist will work under the general supervision of the Assistant Registrar in completing student records related services including transcript processing, grading, enrollment and degree verification, major changes, ELP, special programs, readmission/reinstatement, transfer credit entry, record retention and maintenance, and document imaging.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and/or two years of equivalent experience/training in a higher education environment.

• Excellent analytical skills.

• Detailed knowledge of registration systems and processes.

• Superb communication skills when dealing with sensitive and restricted matters.

• Ability to maintain complete discretion, confidentiality, sensitivity and professional judgment.

• Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to interact effectively with the public.

• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize work, and complete assignments independently as well as work in a team environment.

• Demonstrated knowledge of Windows based computer programs, specifically MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Demonstrated knowledge of automated student Information systems.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing work environment with a high level of Interruption and ability to support multiple functions with fluctuating priorities.

• Ability to Interpret and communicate academic policy information to a variety of campus constituencies.

• Works independently, seeking assistance when appropriate. Ability to work with a diverse population.

• Preferred: Knowledge of the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act and University of California policies and procedures. Experience with Banner student information system.
