An Academic Tutor will supervise and instruct either a middle or high school Math Lab. Students will use online programs to accelerate their math skills. The Academic Tutor will be there to support the students by leading them to understand, rather than showing them or telling them how to solve problems or generate ideas. Build strong relationships with parents by communicating frequently to inform them of student academic and personal growth. E
Give appropriate, persistent and encouraging feedback to students on a regular basis. E
Identify special needs of students and seek additional support as needed. E
Assist in general supervision and discipline of students inside and outside of the classroom. E
Adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the GPA staff handbook. E
Support students in completing assigned work that is communicated by the teacher. E
Collaborate in a strong team environment. E
Perform related duties as assigned. E
We are looking for a Teacher with valid CA credentials to teach students in:
• Passed CSET, CBEST and CLAD exams.
Required upon hire: valid TB test, CPR and First Aid Certification and Livescan
• Applicants MUST attach a cover letter/letter of intro, a resume and 3 letters of reference including a letter from your previous supervisor and school principal to be considered for this position
