Coordinator Core Account Management Associate
The Coordinator Core Account Associate is responsible for building effective relationships with Athenahealth clients that result in high levels of client satisfaction and retention. The Account Associate acts in a consultative manner across an assigned book of business to ensure clients optimize financial and clinical performance using existing athenaNet products and services and/or by driving the up-sell/x-sell of additional products and services to satisfy customers’ business needs.

The Account Associate coordinates all aspects of client interaction, develops conference call and meeting agendas and leads meetings involving the client, sales and support personnel. Additionally, the Account Associate is responsible for driving and tracking key projects identified and ratified by both the client and Athena. The Account Associate is responsible for understanding contract terms and working with management to ensure that client contract terms are met. The Account Associate has demonstrated an ability to address complex business issues in a professional environment and build effective relationships with clients.

Reporting Relationship
The Coordinator Account Management Associate will report directly to the Director or Vice President of Coordinator Account Management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
  • Develop and maintain professional business relationships with key client contacts, who frequently include the C-level executives of the contracted Hospitals and physician organizations, as well as sales executives and other marketing and strategic planning personnel; attaining the trusted advisor status to promote the up-sell and cross sell of other athena products and services
  • Initiate and monitor the implementation process of newly sold Coordinator Core clients by collecting data requirements for enrollment, learn about their ability to interface with athenaNet, and determine their structural hierarchy and business objectives
  • Responsible for being the primary point of contact for the client; setting and managing their expectations, acting as the liaison with other teams within athena, and establish ongoing avenues of communication with client stakeholders and front-line users
  • Responsible for generating and/or interpreting reports of Coordinator performance, measuring changes in referrals, and documenting client questions, complaints and other notable information
  • Meet regularly with clients via conference call to monitor and ensure satisfaction with Company’s service levels, discuss key success metrics and Athena campaigns, and promote business expansion
  • Identify areas for process improvement and propose strategies for change to the management teams; focusing on business development to enhance the user experience, client satisfaction and the overall product offering and efficiency in delivery
  • Accountable for effectively managing assigned daily operations; assuring timely completion of work while respecting the deadlines of projects, meeting preparation and responses to communications; aligning work in coordination with other work within the company
  • Identify areas for process improvement and propose strategies for change to the management teams; focusing on business development to enhance the user experience, client satisfaction and the overall product offering and efficiency in delivery
  • Accountable for effectively managing assigned daily operations; assuring timely completion of work while respecting the deadlines of projects, meeting preparation and responses to communications; aligning work in coordination with other work within the company and help facilitate and/or guide the sales process
  • Enforce company's policies, procedures, and approved talking points as articulated in the Policy Manual, Compliance Plan and any other company or departmental documents
  • Demonstrate commitment to Athena’s Corporate Compliance Code; including escalation of all compliance issues through the chain of command and to the company's Compliance Officer and/or General Counsel
  • Other duties as assigned
Experience:
The ideal Account Management Associate candidate has the following background and experience:
  • Bachelor of Science degree preferred;
  • 2 – 5 years of relevant professional experience;
  • 0 -- 2 years of Specific Experience in Account Management or a Customer Service Capacity;
  • Working Knowledge of the Healthcare Industry and Revenue Cycle, and/or exposure to EMR in a Sales, Services or Implementation Capacity is beneficial although not required
Additional Requirements:
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Occasional travel (5 – 10%) may be required
