Advertising Skills, Business Skills and Strategic Thinking

Partner with Group Account Director to determine strategic direction and tone for account/team. Identify short and long-term opportunities to foster growth of business

Manages agency’s day-to-day relationship with Client and ensures a high level of Client satisfaction

Understands the client’s business, beyond advertising and brand-specific issues

Brings good judgment, a broader perspective and stress managements to “crisis” situations

Leads insightful, well-rationalized strategic recommendations and points-of view requiring minimal input

Writes inspiring creative briefs and has a perspective on creative valued by others

Demonstrates advanced knowledge across a variety or media

Contributes to the development of scope of work and staffing plans; Helps to manage profitability of the account by managing expenditures against client work

Focuses on advertising effectiveness

Communications Skills

Be a good listener

Lead strategic recommendations and sell them to the client

Be able to craft a strong presentation – both written and verbal

Articulate effective strategic rationale and logic flow

Be clear, concise, articulate, focused, persuasive, wise, responsive and confident

Client Relationships

Establish, manage and cultivate strong client relationships. Manage and exceed client expectations.

Be the primary contact for the client and has a strong relationship with the Brand Director or equivalent level in Advertising or Marketing

Buys time from Clients when required

Team/Agency Leadership Skills

Responsible for leading his or her team. Assumes responsibility

Keep Group Account Director aware of all issues effecting the client

Motivate people reporting to him or her, plans their development and actively manages their career

Contribute positively to agency morale – constructive dissatisfaction is encouraged, but individual must consistently contribute positively to the general will of the agency
