POSITION OVERVIEW
The Account Engineer is the Project Manager who owns the development process and is responsible for meeting the schedule for new product or new capability development. He/she must do what it takes to meet program objectives and pull together resources (human, material, otherwise) to overcome any obstacles. This person will also be responsible for supporting specific large customer accounts or geographic regions. This support will include direct assistance to Sales and Field Service to provide new capabilities, to resolve issues, to advise on appropriate product options and functionality, and to travel to customer sites to aid in issue resolution if needed. This person will coordinate with and work in the Test Lab as needed to manage development projects that must be completed in a timely manner.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL WORK FUNCTIONS

Work with Sales, Marketing or Engineering Manager to define development expectations
Develop schedule detailing design requirements, test requirements, and agency test/compliance requirements
Coordinate with Test Lab all required tests and projected time required for testing
Coordinate with Compliance Engineer the test/documentation requirements for UL approvals
Track and report weekly on progress, completions, deficiencies, etc.
Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering any required tooling, fixturing, jigging, etc.
Coordinate with Industrial Engineering any required process changes, subassemblies, new assembly stations, etc.
Coordinate with Quality Engineering any process capability assessment, load tests, etc.
Coordinate new purchased parts with Procurement to ensure on-time delivery
Coordinate with Production a date for prototype production runs and disposition of any materials that must be depleted from inventory or scraped
Submit reasonable timelines for completion of each segment of the project with milestones and deadlines

WORK EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors Degree Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering Field REQUIRED.
Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience directly relating to manufacturing.
Extensive experience with solid modeling in production of sheet metal intensive products, preferably in a fast paced, customized design environment
Several years application experience with Pro-Engineer solid modeling CAD system
Extensive experience interfacing in a hands on manner with a fast paced manufacturing environment
Capable of working in a diverse, creative environment to achieve consensus decisions
