We are currently recruiting for the following open position:

Title: Account Executive, Accessories

Position Classification: Exempt

Location: New York, NY

The Account Executive, Accessories is the internal business expert for each key client, analyzing and understanding profoundly the sales drivers, challenges and opportunities within those clients’ businesses. The Account Executive will create and manage the annual in-depth Business Plan for those clients.

Primary Functions

Be the client’s business expert within Chanel, understanding their Chanel business better than they themselves

For the following business year – drive the annual Business Plan process with each client, encouraging them in May/June each year to set Sales goals for the following year

Help the Manager of Sales to define business strategies by door and by client through the analysis, together with Finance, of P&Ls (by door, by client)

Have a comprehensive overview of each client’s business performance by gathering all relevant client data and inputting into the required business formats (set by Business Planning & Development department)

Continually analyze and know each client’s key numbers in order to fully understand the business issues

Form a business partnership of exceptional quality with each client

Operational Functions

For the current business year – create pro-active tactics to achieve the current Business Plan, together with each client – monitor and adjust each year’s Plan, reacting to opportunities to improve business throughout each seasonal cycle

Working in partnership with each client at market, sell to them and help them to buy an appropriately wide and creative assortment to drive their business

Outside of each Market continue to follow-up the order (and reorder) process

Follow, and where possible, help creatively to solve, any delivery issues

On all ordering and delivery issues, work closely with the Customer Services department in Piscataway

Work with the Manager of Sales and Trunk Show & Events Manager to help plan Trunk Shows and Events for each season – occasionally attend Shows and Events to help out where necessary

Help the Trunk Show & Events department to run Training Clinics and Conclaves where necessary

Manage the DSA/ Specialist, Spiff and Visual Merchandising programs within budget

Devise the appropriate training and selling tools for each client (working in conjunction with other departments where necessary, ex. Paris)

Provide the Business Planning & Development and Finance departments with the completed data formats required (weekly, monthly, seasonal, annual..) for the circulation of Management Reports

Manage each client’s budget

Skills and Knowledge :
Naturally analytical - extremely comfortable and well experienced with numbers

Developed public speaking, presentation and communication skills

Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint

A people-person – naturally easy, gregarious and confident – able to get on well with strong personalities

Minimum Education: BA/ BS

Minimum Years of Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of Account Executive experience

Department store planning/buying background preferred

Advanced Excel skills necessary, including ability to create macros, pivot tables, Vlookup

Special Requirements of the Position:
Regular and frequent Paris and U.S. travel – up to 40% travel
