The Account Executive - Cox Business sells Cox telecommunications services to small to medium sized business clients within an assigned territory. Responsible for entire acquisition process from prospecting, proposal generation, contract negotiation, to fulfilling contract requirements. Maintains pipeline of three (3) times monthly quota. Maintains ongoing relationships with existing clients. Seeks and acts upon clients' feedback regarding satisfaction. Works independently in the field 70% of the week or more and uses own car for extensive local travel (with reimbursement for travel).

Meet or exceed monthly and yearly sales quotas.

Sell complex telecommunications solutions (e.g. business phone services, toll-free services), data, and video services, as well as Internet, to small to medium sized clients.

Maintain high activity standards, including prospects, cold calls (by phone and in person), new sales appointments, number of proposals weekly.

Manages and maintains required pipeline and forecast data, including weekly updates.

Identifies and qualifies prospects.

Participates in business development and networking activities weekly.

Develops and increases market penetration in assigned sales territory.

Negotiates pricing, service level, and terms/conditions with clients as approved by manager.

Maintains client satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.

Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required. Post-high school education or college degree a plus.

2-5 years of prior telecommunications B2B sales or comparable outside sales experience (voice, data, internet or web hosting, VPN or Long Distance products) is highly desirable.

Must have lead generation experience to include hunting, cold calling, prospecting and new business development.

Must have strong technical aptitude, verbal and written communication, problem solving and presentation skills.

Must have effective people and relationship management skills, as well as the ability to deal in a changing and fast paced environment.

Must have computer skills including Windows based applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).

Must have a valid driver's license, clean DMV record and current automobile insurance.
