Serve as the primary operations liaison between Lockton and clients. Under the Producer's direction, serve as primary advisor to clients on all group insurance issues. Interface effectively and confidently with senior management of clients and/or prospects, respresenting Lockton in the highest professional manner.
Develop with the Producer new business within the book of business.
Prepare an Annual Service Plan for each client. Meet with clients quarterly or as necessary.
Oversee renewal and marketing efforts and take a lead role in carrier selection and/or financial negotiations.
Review drafts of all employee communication pieces.
Review and sign-off on all agreements and/or documents.
Schedule and lead all client meetings; attend enrollment meetings as necessary.
Ensure that data in BenefitPoint is loaded and updated annually for assigned clients.
Supervise Account Managers and Account Administrators in the preparation of reports.
Develop and maintain an extensive knowledge of insurance coverages and markets.
Prepare written correspondence, reports, and analyses as needed.
Handle complex underwriting and funding issues and strategies.
Develop mutually-beneficial relationships with insurance carriers and administrators to general optimal results for clients.
Make a positive contribution to customer satisfaction and constantly strive to improve service to the customer.
Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent education and/or work experience in the employee benefits industry required.
Minimum of five years' employee benefits industry experience preferred.
Firm working knowledge of group benefits in multiple product lines and a basic understanding of risk management.
Working knowledge of different financial arrangements and products available to clients, as well as federal and state legislation and legal issues related to the insurance industry.
Strong knowledge of underwriting, financing, and funding approaches.
Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret financial information and data to facilitate decision making.
Ability to prepare and present client presentations with clarity and understanding.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel required; PowerPoint desired.
Must have strong customer skills along with the ability to develop sound client relationships with multiple clients. Demonstrated ability to instill confidence and comfort with cilents.
Demonstrated professional, tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives.
Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workload and to meet time sensitive deadlines required. Must be results-oriented with the ability to change priorities as needed.
Must have above-average verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to interact with associates at all levels of responsibility, along with the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
Must have the ability to travel by auto and aircraft, and be away from home for more than one day and night.
