Our client is seeking a committed and enthusiastic business professional to join our San Diego office. Our account managers are in a multi-faceted role that includes client retention, revenue generation, customer service, project management, technical support, problem solving, consulting, and contribution to company initiatives. Some of the activities include: Direct interaction with analysts and high-level business executives from global leaders in science based corporations and intellectual property law firms Effectively communicate with current clients and prospects predominantly via phone/email, and occasionally face to face at trade-shows, conferences and client meetings Manage workflow on scientific and intellectual property consulting projects Grow the business through account management, building ongoing client relationships, coupled with business development and marketing activities Apply excellent communication, organizational, and customer-facing skills in order to handle multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of focus and attention to detail
Job Requirements BS or MS degree required- Ideally in a science-related discipline, e.g. biology, chemistry, biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, genomics, pharmaceuticals, engineering, etc. Minimum 3-5+ years experience working in a professional, client focused role, e.g. as a project manager or account manager Dedicated and reliable self-starter with sound decision making capabilities and excellent organization skills and attention to detail Personable and customer focused to work with customer needs and ensure client retention via managing expectations, trouble-shooting and problem solving Strong account management and account development skills Knowledge of patent and scientific literature databases, intellectual property or patents in general is advantageous, but not essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Client relations and account management or sales skills preferable Excellent computer skills
