Posting Description

As a member of MWV’s Beverage SBU, you will serve as a liaison between the global headquarters in Richmond and the Folding Carton facility in Mebane, NC. As an Account Specialist, you will provide essential communication between the line of business and its customers. HOW YOU WILL IMPACT MWV

  • Understand and execute Beverage strategy; understanding our competitive position in the market, as well as profitability and product portfolio within accounts
  • Participate in customer specific account plans, execute the tactical elements of the plan and work collaboratively with appropriate internal resources to deliver optimal balance of customer satisfaction and profitability
  • Identify and deliver value to customers by developing an understanding of and anticipating specific customer needs to exceed customer expectations
  • Partner with sales, plant and technical teams concerning aspects of customer orders/ inquiries to provide superior service
  • Develop a strong network of internal and external contacts capable of leveraging the global capabilities of MWV in the delivery of customer projects
  • Report on activities weekly to account managers, Beverage Customer Service Manager and Beverage Customer Support Lead
  • Project Management - establish project scope, projected production, impact and logistics for all package promotions, new die introductions, and graphic changes in both Mebane and Beverage systems/ processes
  • Lead all Beverage trial work to run in the Mebane facility, Facilitate communication process with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful execution
  • Work collectively with the Mebane and Beverage teams obtain all necessary information/assets for trials, including structures, graphics, and pricing as required
  • Pricing Support and Strategy
  • Data Management – order entry into PECAS, request and provide customer specifications to internal partners, maintain accurate records
  • Account Maintenance – responding to customer inquiries, communicate delivery issues, provide regular updates, understand the urgency of clearing financial issues and makes this a daily priority; monitor open items/accounts receivable, investigate pricing and billing discrepancies, maintain customer file for correspondence, project quotations, purchase orders, packing lists
    • Four year college degree preferred
    • 3-5 years of experience in a customer service environment required
    • Proficiency in MS Office required, knowledge of an AS400 system preferred
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Sets high standards for the quality of their work and strives to “do it right the first time”.
    • Effective listening and the ability to respond positively to coaching
    • Internal selling capabilities.
    • Sound judgment in decision-making, remaining calm under pressure
    • Demonstrated understanding of when escalation is appropriate and necessary
    • Must project a friendly, positive and professional attitude/appearance at all times.
    • Exhibits maturity during a crisis maintaining composure and completing tasks

    • Respond to internal and customer inquiries expediently
    • Self-directed in order to manage customer accounts with minimal supervision, a high degree of accuracy and with a positive attitude
    • Ability to multi-task with a high productivity level and few procedural errors concentrating on the critical few first and completing all tasks
