The Account Supervisor is responsible for ensuring alignment of strategy through execution while managing all daily activities. He/she is accountable for steering the client, growing the business, and spotting new opportunities. The Account Supervisor contributes to the delivery of smart marketing and creative strategy through knowledge of customer insight and the competitive landscape.


Demonstrates a deep knowledge of marketing, communications and direct marketing principles

Creates and disseminates important information on trends affecting client businesses, including economic, consumer, industry, competitive and cultural factors

Contributes constructively to the development of communications plans

Creates thoughtful Measurement and Analysis plans, ensuring success of future programs

Authors persuasive client recommendations and points of view

Makes valued suggestions on how to improve future campaigns

Demonstrates a thoughtful understanding of Client’s business, market and brand dynamics

Provides insights that fuel strategic innovation


Manages all stages of development to ensure the work meets client expectations, is on brief and on brand

Ensures consistency of voice across communications channels and that the voice of the customer/consumer is represented in creative work

Participates in creative concept reviews, providing constructive feedback and insight into potential client hot buttons

Attends and contributes to all creative presentations, setting client expectations beforehand and managing feedback in the meetings

Reviews first and second rounds of copy/layout with a keen eye

Works with Delivery colleagues to manage workflow, assign tasks, gain alignment

Troubleshoots to ensure proper and timely delivery of work


Ensures the agency operates on a solid foundation by building strong relationships with mid-level clients

Is constantly attuned to the evolving needs of client

Maintains almost daily contact with the client, and seeks out feedback

Easily builds rapport and trust with others

Is viewed as a high potential leader by agency colleagues

Supports and trains junior team members

Provides timely feedback of both positive and negative performance

Often provides advice or specific helpful suggestions on how to do a task when asked

Contributes to the career development of account team members, identifying areas of strength and growth as well as training needs

Business Management

Contributes to thought-provoking scopes of work that deliver on client needs

Makes thoughtful recommendations on resource allocation

Contributes to account growth by identifying opportunities to increase revenue

Constantly suggests methods to improve internal processes

Participates in agency training sessions to improve business management and marketing skills

Demonstrates a good understanding of financial concepts

Conducts thorough and accurate financial analyses

Works with Finance to ensure all SOWs / Letters of Engagement are signed and submitted to Accounting

Responsible for working with senior management to monitor SOWs / Letters of Engagement to ensure alignment of deliverables

Tracks and monitors labor utilization on bi-weekly / monthly basis

Monitors estimates, invoicing and receivables

Responsible for accurate and timely billing and approving final invoices

Required Skills


Established track record of successfully managing client businesses

4-6 years industry experience

Direct marketing agency experience a must

Proven ability to lead teams

History of drawing appropriate conclusions from data


Familiar with communications and direct marketing principles

Knows how to work toward solutions that incorporate various individuals’ ideas

Understands importance of actively engaging everyone in decision-making

Grasps importance of showing commitment and energy around others

Recognizes the importance of getting personally involved and making things happen

Knows how to cope adequately in stressful situations

Understand how to present ideas and opinions clearly and persuasively


Bachelor’s degree required
