General responsibilities are for accounting for our General, Administrative and Treasury business areas including journal entries, account reconciliations, analysis and management reports. Additional responsibilities will include budgeting and cost center analysis for General and Administrative operations and special analysis. Specific responsibilities are to prepare, analyze, and reconcile insurance, worker' compensation, and investment balance sheet accounts. Reconciles bank accounts to bank statements and other cash accounts. Monitors and classifies investments, accounts, and transactions. Prepares and processes monthly closing journal entries and miscellaneous accruals. Checks overall reasonableness and accuracy of detailed transactions, account and source documents or other systems. Reviews, corrects or provides business reasons for variances from budget in the G&A departmental operating expenses. Identifies and institutes improved business processes. Assists with projects, special reports, and research requests.
Good understanding of U.S. GAAP. Ability to manage multiple priorities, analyze and synthesize data and observe trends. Detail-oriented with ability to work accurately and problem solve in a fast-paced environment. Ability to provide excellent internal and external customer service and support. Excellent communication skills and ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with all customers. Solid knowledge of MS Office applications, SAP experience a plus. Ability to work long hours as required for special projects, budget, quarter and year end, etc.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; One to three years experience in an accounting environment preferred.
