Job Description:
Brookfield Renewable Energy is looking for an experienced full charge Accountant in our Marlborough office.This position presents an opportunity to participate in a growth oriented organization and to gain exposure and understanding of the energy industry. This role is ideally suited to a highly knowledgeable, career oriented designated professional seeking a challenging opportunity.
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, US Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for directing the accounting functions of the US operations. The Accountant will focus on the following activities:

Prepare timely and accurate journal entries for general ledger as required in completing the monthly financial close process.

Responsible for tracking and calculating accurate operating costs

Maintaining and ensuring that the cost system is up to date and prepare variance analysis

Review account activity to ensure account accuracy and make corrective journal entries.

Maintain up-to-date cumulative costing information for projects

Prepare state sales tax returns

Prepare weekly cash flow forecast and analysis

Prepare weekly bank reconciliations

Participating in the budgeting and forecasting process.

Required Skills

Bachelors Degree in Accounting is required

CPA or MBA is desirable

Minimum three (3) years of related work experience

Knowledge or exposure to SOX would be an asset

Capable of managing difficult and demanding situations

Capable of solving problems and using sound judgment

Quality and detail oriented and able to meet tight deadlines

Excellent team player

Good knowledge of Excel, and working knowledge of an ERP system an asset
