Responsible for the financial accounting activities for Burberry Mexico, Brazil and GB10 (Latin America & Caribbean franchise & wholesale). The role is responsible for ensuring all general accounting is accurate and complies with Group accounting policy and local requirements.

Responsible for ensuring key month-end tasks are completed as per Group timetable:

journal postings, accruals & prepayments

management accounts preparation and review

enter finalized numbers into group reporting system (BOSS)

Detailed general ledger review and cleansing; identify potential issues e.g. non-receipt of invoices or landlord disputes; identify surplus provisions and potential liabilities and present findings to FC on a monthly basis.

Timely preparation of statutory accounts for review.

Preparation of all Group appendices and schedules for half-year- and year-end; provide explanations for group queries.

Responsible for ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations are produced and all reconciling items are investigated and cleared in a timely manner.

Continually challenge and improve control environment by focusing on process improvement.

Be a key point of contact for the financial analysts and controllers in the business.

Assist in the annual audit & budget processes for the company.

Ad hoc duties and queries as required.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have:
Qualified accountant with 2+ years PQE.

Accomplished finance background with previous experience of month end reporting for group reporting entities

Good analytical and reporting skills

Ability to work on own initiative; self-motivated and adaptable

Able to work in a fast-paced enviornment and handle multiple demands whilst achieving key deadlines

A commercial outlook and solution-driven

Good team player

Ability to prioritise skills within tight timescales with strong attention to detail

Up to date knowledge of IFRS

Spanish and Portuguese language skills would be an advantage

Strong communication skills – written and oral

Experience of working with SAP in a finance environment and strong Excel skills

Experience of local Brazilian and Mexican statutory reporting would be an advantage, but not necessary
