BPM is seeking an Accountant for their Internal Accounting Department located in Walnut Creek. In this role you will create and interpret financial statements and reports. You will also compile financial information, process journal entries into various accounts, and reconcile reports and financial data. Familiarity with and an awareness of the laws and regulations that apply to an accounting function are required to ensure compliance.
Daily reconciliation and posting of cash receipts
Reconciliation of bank accounts
Oversight of bill payments
Preparation of financial statements and footnotes
Preparation of general ledger entries and reconciliations for month end closing
Assist in budget and financial forecasts under direction of the corporate Controller
General Payroll processing
Other projects as needed
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
Two years direct experience in accounting
Strong computer skills: Excel, various software applications, MS Office-MAS 90 a plus
Excellent communication skills, oral & written, attention to detail and documentation Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
Ability to work independently and unsupervised
