I. SUMMARY STATEMENT
This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial data as it relates to an SEC compliant company.
Reports to Manager, Corporate Accounting.
III. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Prepare journal entries for accrual and adjustment purposes
Prepare profit and loss variance analysis documentation monthly
Analyze balance sheet accounts and reconcile to general ledger
Research and resolve problems related to reconciled accounts
Understand inter-unit relationships related to the company's multiple combinations of departments and business units
Understand and comply with Sarbanes Oxley rules and regulations
Prepare internal management reports related to specific company metrics
Determine preliminary assessment of revenue recognition for various company revenue streams
Serve as a liaison for assigned corporate departments on accounting issues
Prepare quarterly balance sheet variance analysis for assigned areas
Prepare audit work papers annually and quarterly related to assigned areas
Special projects as assigned
IV. SKILLS, EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
2+ year of SEC company general ledger experience/public accounting experience
PeopleSoft experience preferred
Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
Ability to identify and resolve problems independently
Ability to assume responsibility for projects with limited supervision
Good interpersonal skills
Good organizational skills
Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
Good oral and written communication skills
CPA preferred or similar equivalent certification
