Corporate Accounting, Corporate Accounts Receivable and Billing, is seeking a motivated individual to join its team as an Accountant. An Associate’s Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 4 years related experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum of 2 years related experience is required. Qualified candidates must have knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures. Must be proficient in MS Office products (i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word) and ability to learn various other computer applications and mainframe systems. Must have the ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing. Strong interpersonal, customer service and decision-making skills and a proactive approach to work tasks are required. Experience with Oracle E-Busines Suite and Oracle Business Intelligence are preferred. Familiarity with overall billing processes and procedures, and utility accounting is preferred.

Experience within other Accounting Operation Sections.

Must be willing and able to travel within the Con Edison service territory as needed. Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities: The Accountant monitors Sundry Accounts Receivable balances and prepares CECONY & O&R invoices, including meetings with other Company organizations and representatives from the Corporate Accounting Finance Support team. The Accountant will also prepare monthly journal entries and various account analysis The Accountant will coordinate section testing of system defects and communicate with System Support to drive correction of any issues impacting the business process. The Accountant will also perform special projects and other related assignments as needed (including assisting in the supervision of union personnel..
