The mission of the Finance Division (FD) is to deliver essential financial management products and services in support of the FBI’s investigative mission. The FD is responsible for budget formulation and execution, accounting, property management and procurement. Due to the lack of in-house personnel resources and subject matter experts, the FD requires contractor support staff to supplement the FBI staff and assist in performing a range of accounting work as it pertains to classifying, recording, reporting and reconciling accounting information.
The candidate will be responsible for performing a range of accounting work as it pertains to classifying, recording, reporting and reconciling accounting information. This individual will utilize proper account structure, rules and accounting theory to maintain the Standard General Ledger (SGL) trial balances and related procedures. Additionally, the candidate will perform functions associated with the control and analysis of obligations and expenditure of FBI funds and appropriation accounts. This individual should have knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, governmental accounting principles, accounting theory, and federal/state tax filing procedures. The candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of accounting work as it pertains to classifying, recording, reporting, and reconciling accounting information.
- 3+ years' of experience in accounting
- BS in Business related degree
- Functional working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR);
- Familiarity with OMB internal controls;
- Expert working knowledge of the Financial Management System (this is an FBI specific system);
- Functional working knowledge (with ability to become subject matter expert) for various financial guidance, policies, and oversight functions;
- Effectively analyze and interpret data
- Express sensitive and complex information clearly, in writing and orally
- Prepare clear, concise, and conclusive reports
