This position is located in the Marine Corps Systems Command, United States Marine Corps in Quantico, Virginia. KEY REQUIREMENTS

Position may require occasional travel (15%). DUTIES:
Perform complex analysis and evaluations related to all aspects of accounting.
Resolve accounting and management problems by utilizing analysis/reporting requirements, work processes, accounting systems, structure and data produced.
Serve as the functional liaison for audit and financial management policy and procedures within the organization and conduct accounting/audit support and pre/post audit follow-up.
Provide oversight of the entity's Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) program.

Basic Education Requirement: Applicant must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degree in accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.
Combination of education and experience -- at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality. This can include up to 6 hours of business law.
A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination; OR
Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in accounting or auditing, e.g., 15 semester hours, but that does not fully satisfy the 24-semester-hour requirement of paragraph A, provided that (a) the applicant has successfully worked at the full-performance level in accounting, auditing, or a related field, e.g., valuation engineering or financial institution examining; (b) a panel of at least two higher level professional accountants or auditors has determined that the applicant has demonstrated a good knowledge of accounting and of related and underlying fields that equals in breadth, depth, currency, and level of advancement that which is normally associated with successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in paragraph A; and (c) except for literal nonconformance to the requirement of 24 semester hours in accounting, the applicant's education, training, and experience fully meet the specified requirements.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience analyzing risk and internal controls and modifying/adapting conventional accounting techniques to resolve financial management, forensic accounting, and accountability problems.
Experience conducting risk assessments and evaluate internal controls in accordance with internal control and financial reporting procedures.
Experience developing guides, techniques, and procedures for internal review and audit support personnel.
Experience developing trend analysis and advisory reports containing and emphasizing suggested actions to correct systemic problems.
Experience providing advice to management in the application of risk and internal control assessments to new areas.
evaluations of financial management and accounting operations and their underlying risks and internal controls.
