To support the Senior Accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance / Accounting Department. This position will be responsible for providing timely and accurate accounting, reporting and analysis, for preparing journal entries, detailed reports and account reconciliations.
Prepare and post journal entries associated to month end
Maintain the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation/roll forward schedules; provide month end reports; insure proper recording of new purchases and disposals; complete government surveys.
Prepare and analyze bank reconciliations.
Investigate account fluctuations, primarily for operating expense accounts
Maintain accounting records in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards
Correspond with other corporate departments to ensure proper accounting for purchases and expenses.
Prepare labels and maintain files as needed within the department.
Back-up month-end duties assigned to other Accountants
Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time by the Senior Accountant or Accountant Manager
Ad hoc analyses and reporting as needed
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a Bachelor’s degree in business with emphasis in accounting, is required.
Strong understanding of accounting theory, CPA designation preferred
Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
SAP application knowledge strongly desired
Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data, highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets
Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications
