The world-famous Palm Springs Follies is seeking an experienced accountant. The accountant reviews all financial information and is responsible for all transactions to the general ledger accounts, as well as analysis and reconciliation. In addition, the accountant prepares financial reports on assets, liabilities, profit and loss and other financial activities, assists with annual budget process, payroll administration & associated processes and financial audits. This individual must also be able to analyze accounting records, financial statements and other reports for internal and external users and have an overall proficiency in general business operations and GAAP. Duties include: Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the accounting department Prepare, input, review bi-weekly payroll, entered into CBIZ system Banking and assisting CPA with bank reconciliations Reconcile GL accounts and balancing with QuickBooks Supervise Purchasing/Bookkeeping Monitor receivables & payables Resolve vendor issues Prepare and submit quarterly sales/use tax returns Year end 1099 processing Weekly master budget with actual cost comparison Weekly, monthly and quarterly departmental budget reports with detail backup Weekly, monthly reporting of income/expenses
BA or BS in Accounting, 5+ years in an accountant role, CPA not required, but helpful Experience in managing multiple priorities and strong organizational skills Ability to maintain composure and decision making skills in multi-tasking situations Flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidaysCompensation: This position is a full-time, year-round position, including benefits.
