Applies standard and specialized accounting principles, procedures, and practices to monitor, analyze and reconcile sub ledger accounts to the general ledger in compliance with University, federal and state accounting requirements. Interprets and analyzes financial data and transactions.
  • Prepares accounting reports associated with student A/R, and other similar financial activities.
  • Monitors and reviews accounting reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Reviews, prepares, and processes accounting transaction related entries of moderate complexity.
  • Reconcile charges posted to student accounts and prepare payment for Housing, Bookstore, and Insurance invoices. Interacts with students, University personnel and external contacts such as federal and state government, funding sources and vendors to provide information.
  • Conducts research analyses and special projects.
  • Performs statistical analyses to determine accounting trends, estimates, and significant changes.
  • Writes narrative reports to explain and document findings.
  • Recommends and documents procedures to eliminate recurring reconciling discrepancies.
  • May assist in audits or work with internal and external auditors.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Mandatory Job Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in a business related field with at least 12 hours of accounting; from an accredited four-year college or university.
    • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, Access). Must have the ability to use Banner or other ERP systems. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Minimum of one (1) year directly related job experience. Requires working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, understanding of business processes and account reconciliations.
