Under the general supervision of Accounting Supervisor and/or Accounting Manager, the position performs a variety of accounting in accordance with standard accounting procedures and is responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and review of financial and related records, timely research, data entry, reconciliation, and maintenance of vendor accounts. The focus of the job will be in AR, Collections, Cash Applications.


o Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.

o Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable). Enter data into the computer system

o Compile data and prepare reports associated with accounts; monitor company accounts and ensure payments are up to date;

o Reconcile records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers.

o Take appropriate action to resolve discrepancies.

o Investigate questionable data.

o Assist in month-end closing; produce monthly reports;

o Participate in the preparation, evaluation, justification, and maintenance of general ledger accounts.


Education and Experience:

Associates degree with three years of experience in a field related to clerical accounting or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or related business field. Experience in AR, Collections and with Cash Applications is highly desirable.

Must have knowledge of accounting principles and practices, computer skill on software applications. Use computer applications, specifically medium to advanced use of Excel, write memos and reports clearly and concisely, organize work and set priorities to meet deadlines; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and perform complex mathematical calculation.
