Job Summary: Freedom Plaza Independent Living is looking for an Accounting Assistant to work 20 hours per week. Qualified individual must have customer service skills, computer/ data entry experience, organizational skills, filing, copier/fax experience and general office duty knowledge.

Hours are flexible with the exception of one required day of work every third business day of the month.

Responsibilities include:
  • Bill residents (input charges, input resident changes such as move-ins, move-outs, and transfers, input
  • Adjustments, prepare and review monthly statements)
  • Apply cash payments
  • Review residents’ accounts/answer billing questions
  • Follow up on past due accounts
  • Ensure accuracy in transfers and billing in comparing Healthcare stays and the resident’s contract.
  • Assist in preparing statistical data for reporting, cost report preparation at end of month
  • Track resident status changes to ensure appropriate billing charges.
  • other duties as assigned
We seek the following qualifications:
Must have customer service skills, computer/ data entry experience, organizational skills, filing, copier/fax experience and general office duty knowledge.

Previous experience in bookkeeping or entry level accounting is required.

Excellent communication, writing, and computer skills

Detail oriented, ability to follow directions and meet deadlines

Analytical and computer skills (knowledge of Excel and Word preferred)

Ability to multi-task (stay on task with many interruptions)

Knowledge of HealthMedX preferred
