  • High school diploma, required.
  • Two years of additional training in accounting or clerical, required.
  • Two to three years of bookkeeping experience, required.
  • One to two years of computer/data processing experience, preferred.
This position reports directly to the Director of Accounting and functions as an essential part of the accounting team. This position is technical in nature but does relate to residents, staff and outside vendors. This position demands accuracy and has a direct impact on the financial outcomes of the campus. This position has access to confidential information. In performance of duties this person coordinates the gathering of the necessary information to bill Medicare part “A” and part “B” for applicable services performed. Coordinates the gathering of necessary information for Medicaid and other third-party billing. This position requires the ability to work with the Washington State Department of Health and Social Services, the doctors and nurses in the Skilled Nursing Facility and the families of residents to ensure eligibility and eventual reimbursement. Interacts with nursing staff and administration to collect information needed to accurately prepare resident bills. Verifies and posts charges to residents' accounts for Covenant Shores Campus and prepares monthly statements. Prepares monthly billing statements for residents campus-wide including moorage. Is responsible for inputting or uploading all necessary patient charges, and ensuring the accuracy of each charge. Must have detailed records indicating the existence of special billing requirements and/or limitations pertinent to each resident. Provides Director of Accounting with accounting information as required. Has access to all cash receipt journals and general ledger journals. Prepares and maintains custody of all billing and accounts receivable reports, census reports, resident statements, moorage accounts and vendor files.

Excellent organization skills with a high degree of accuracy required. Must be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English. Must be familiar with healthcare third party reimbursement policies and laws. Must show understanding of the CRC Mission Statement. Professional appearance is required. The position requires extremely close visual effort and concentration more than half of the day.
