The Inland Real Estate Group’s newest real estate investment trust business manager, IREIT Business Manager and Advisor, Inc. has an opening for an Administrative/Accounting Assistant in Oak Brook, IL. This will be a great opportunity to work on a new Inland REIT. This position has the potential to grow quickly as the REIT buys commercial properties and the requirements of the company and its relevant needs increase.

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer, the positions primary responsibility is to provide administrative and accounting support to Inland Real Estate Income Trust, Inc. and IREIT Business Manager and Advisor, Inc. Responsibilities include general clerical and entry level accounting based assignments.

Other major responsibilities include the following:

Review of invoices and initial coding of accounts payable for multiple companies.
·
Preparation of journal entries associated with daily stock activity, wire transfers, etc.
·
Prepare bank reconciliations on multiple bank accounts.
·
Prepare and modify documents including Excel spreadsheets, correspondence, reports, drafts, memos and emails, as assigned.
·
Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements.
·
Maintain department due date schedules.
·
Setup meetings and conferences, as needed
·
Answer telephones, as needed.
·
Support staff in assigned project based work.
·
General clerical duties including photocopying, fax and mailing, including delivery of time sensitive material around Inland campus, as necessary.

Complete special projects or analysis, as assigned.
Requirements:
·


Associate degree required. Working towards a BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance a plus.
·
1-3 years of relevant work experience required. Experience in the commercial real estate industry a plus.
·
Basic accounting skills.
·
Computer Skills and experience with Microsoft Office required including knowledge of Word and Excel.
·
Effective oral and written communication skills.
·
Ability to gather information as well as monitor department deadlines.
·
Motivated self-starter with ability to work independently in a deadline oriented environment. Ability to work overtime, if requested.
·
Effective organizational and planning skills with ability to focus attention on details.
·
Ability to prioritize and complete assigned responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner.
·
Ability to complete assignments independently or as part of a team and which requires the individual to be flexible and adaptable.
·
Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures.
·
Knowledge of operation of standard office equipment.
·
JD Edwards and/or Yardi experience a plus
