Hotel Vitale is looking for an organized, focused and driven Accounting Assistant. This is a full time position supporting the Controller and Accounting Manager of a very busy accounting department. The ideal candidate will have strong initiative, a sense of urgency, be highly organized and methodical. You already have a comprehensive background in accounting and knowledge of full cycle operations- particularly in accounts payable and general cashier

You are self motivated and can work in a deadline driven environment

You are an effective multi-tasker who can handle multiple projects and priorities at once

You enjoy teamwork and can work effectively with an array of people

A fun, professional, open office environment is a-okay with you


The Accounting Assistant supports the accounts payable function by processing account payable invoices, expense checks and weekly check runs, handles all cash transactions and deposits, maintains accurate filing and record keeping, assist with compliance on all accounting related policies and procedures.


Minimum 2 year accounting experience or equivalent schooling. Prior hotel finance experience is preferred.

Must have some experience working with accounting systems. ACCPAC experience is preferred, and knowledge of sales tax laws preferred.

Strong administrative skills, attention to detail, analytical ability, and excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and handle confidential information

Professional communication & written skills are a must as this position will be working closely with vendors and employees on a constant basis.

Proficient in MS Office Programs- Word & Excel

Must be able to work well both independently and in a team setting

Individual must possess excellent organizational skills. Specific to invoice filing systems and records maintenance.

Must have the ability to focus and concentrate in a fast paced environment in order to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy.
